Peer Review Process

The review process at ‘AGRIEAST’ is carried out in three stages. First, the Editor evaluates whether the paper meets the formal criteria and falls within the scope of the Journal and assigns the manuscript to Associate Editor who evaluates the paper specifically and sends to two experts for reviewing according to his/her research expertise. The final decision on acceptance is made by the Editor, considering the opinion of the reviewers, with the eventual help of other Editorial Board members, if necessary.

The review process in ‘AGRIEAST’ is anonymous (double-blind review). The review is clear, detailed, timely, and reflects the unbiased opinion on the scientific quality of the contribution. Reviewers are asked to be impartial in their opinion. If they cannot separate the evaluation process from their personal views or if they have a conflict of interest, they should excuse themselves from reviewing. They are also expected to protect the confidentiality of the manuscript and ensure that it is not disseminated or exploited in any form prior to publication.

Generally two peer reviewers are chosen for the peer review. Peer reviewers are ideally experts in their field. Typically the journal asks the reviewers to complete their reviews within 3-4 weeks.
